Our mission is to provide safe and fun toys through careful selection of what we will carry. Most toy retailers are concerned with safety and many issue safety statements about the products they sell. As far as we know, we are the only toy store that tests toys for lead to verify safety claims made by manufacturers. Before any toy is listed on this site or in our store, we test it for unsafe lead levels with our X-Ray Fluorescence device. We won’t sell you anything we wouldn't let our child play with. The federal regulations are only concerned with surface paint levels above 600 parts per million lead. We test to ensure that not only do all painted surfaces on every toy fall far below the federal allowable limit of lead, but all plastics and other surface materials as well that aren't currently regulated. When it comes to children's safety, we believe that there is no excuse to use any amount of lead on any exterior surface of a toy.

As part of our efforts to find and promote toys that are made with the highest safety standards, we have put together a separate website that contains toy lead test results for both toys from our store and toys that we have tested from other stores. This information is available along with a consolidated list of lead related recalls. The site is very new and we have a lot of catching up to do but are working towards having 10,000 products listed on the site very soon. We encourage you to visit the site and leave your feedback, suggestions, and requests.

We also offer free lead testing as a community service to anyone who brings in a questionable item to our physical store. If you're in the Central New York area, bring in a few toys or any other household items and we will test them for free. No purchase is ever required for this service. We care about our community and the children in it.
